I was only using the "OneStep DVD from Movie" feature to burn an iMovie and it worked perfectly. iDVD, View source, iDVD was an application program that was developed by Apple for authoring video DVDs in Mac OS X. Be careful not to overwrite the iDVD app if you are using a thumbdrive as your transfer method as it shares the same name as the application you just copied. In addition, you will also need to download the latest update on Apples iDVD downloads page. Copy this over to the new computer and place it in the same location. Look for the "iDVD" folder in this location. Navigate to the following location on the older computer: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support. Navigate to the Applications folder on your old computer and copy iDVD to your new computer's application folder. iDVD is Apples DVD authoring-and-burning tool which can help Mac users burn QuickTime movies, MP3 music, and digital pictures to a DVD.

The articles I read online stated you needed to purchase software like Wondershare or Toast but that is unnecessary IF you have access to your older mac (although I'm sure this violates ULA). System Requirements, iDVD 3 requires a Power Mac G4 with an Apple SuperDrive, running Mac OS X version 10.2 or later. The reasons for why need iDVD alternative are as below: (1) iDVD is disconnected with Mac since OS X 10.7 Lion, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.9 Mavericks or 10.10 Yosemite, 10.11 El Capitan, let alone new operating system macOS Sierra. So we do a video for my kid's gymnastics team every year and I upgraded my laptop and noticed today there was no iDVD. iDVD alternatives are programs which can burn DVD on Mac and have the same or even more functions than iDVD.
